US Marine Corps Service

2005 - 2012

Leadership, Training + Operational Coordination

My Marine Corps service gave me the leadership foundation I still use in event marketing, community engagement, and team-based work today. As an artillery Marine and NCO, I learned how to lead people under pressure, coordinate moving parts, communicate clearly, train junior team members, and stay accountable when the work had real consequences.

That experience shaped how I approach public-facing operations: prepare thoroughly, keep people aligned, adapt quickly, and make sure the mission gets done.

  • Served as a Marine Corps artilleryman and noncommissioned officer

  • Led, trained, and supported junior Marines in structured, high-accountability environments

  • Coordinated people, equipment, timelines, and field operations under pressure

  • Built discipline in communication, planning, safety, and execution

  • Supported recruiting-related activities, including guiding poolees through travel, MEPS preparation, expectations, and logistics

  • Developed a practical leadership style built around accountability, adaptability, team trust, and mission completion

Marine Corps service laid the foundation for my work in events, hospitality, marketing, and community engagement: clear communication, team accountability, operational planning, and calm execution under pressure.

  • Led junior Marines under pressure

  • Coordinated people, equipment + timelines

  • Trained teams on safety + execution

  • Supported recruiting events + poolee logistics

Case ExampleS

Poolee Travel + MEPS Preparation

Situation

New recruits needed guidance through travel, overnight logistics, expectations, and preparation before processing through MEPS.

My Role

Supported recruiting-related activities by helping poolees prepare for the process, understand expectations, and stay organized before arrival.

Actions

  • Coordinated communication around timing, travel, lodging, dining, and conduct

  • Helped reduce uncertainty before a high-pressure milestone

  • Kept the group focused, informed, and accountable

Transferable Value

This is the same skill set I use in event work: preparing people before execution, managing logistics, keeping groups aligned, and communicating clearly when timing matters.

Field Operations + Team Accountability

Situation

Artillery operations required coordination across people, equipment, safety expectations, timelines, and changing field conditions.

My Role

Served as an artillery Marine and NCO in structured, high-accountability environments.

Actions

  • Helped maintain accountability for people, equipment, and assigned responsibilities

  • Supported team readiness, communication, and execution under pressure

  • Worked in environments where preparation, discipline, and safety mattered

Transferable Value

This experience shaped how I manage event teams, public-facing operations, venue logistics, and fast-moving situations where execution has to stay controlled.
