Pony Bama / Fantasy Showclubs — Audience Growth + Event Marketing System

At Jerry Westlund Presents, I helped create, promote, and manage high-energy live entertainment experiences designed to drive attendance, guest engagement, and repeat visits. My work combined event marketing, hospitality operations, team leadership, social media promotion, audience development, and partnership-building in a fast-paced, public-facing entertainment environment.

I coordinated and supported recurring live events, VIP guest experiences, promotional campaigns, staff execution, music/DJ operations, and venue atmosphere. This role strengthened my ability to translate audience interest into actual turnout, manage complex event environments, and create memorable guest experiences that drove revenue and brand visibility.

LaRue makes the Pony all the Wisener — Dave Manack (May 8, 2019).

“It doesn’t matter who saunters up to his establishment — be it a fresh-faced entertainer, the decades-long regular, or the antsy first-timer — Wisener’s chief aim is to make people feel comfortable.” - Dave Manack

Behind the Events

2018 St. Patrick’s Parade (Huntsville)

The first picture shows something near the peak of what we were doing in the Huntsville parade calendar.

But I remember the first year I essentially begged for parades. Zack Phillips—now regional director—and exactly one entertainer were on a trailer being pulled by my truck, with balloon arches, in the most comical display of unexpected heavy-wind balloon chaos. That was around 2014. By 2018, we had it down to a science, with multiple clubs, parade entries for nearly every holiday, community volunteer commitments, guest entertainers, and mountains of pink bead necklaces.

While it was not what most would expect from our industry, our involvement in parades and volunteer causes during the holidays proved to be both energizing for our team and a great way to engage with the Huntsville community.

Special Recognition

Our team’s home club won Club of the Year, and I was a finalist for the DJ of the Year award at the industry expo for the second time. Jerry, the founder of the company, collected the club award and said, “I don’t care about the award. LaRue is the best strip club DJ in the country.”

Personally, that was one of my favorite career moments. One part was witnessing the boldness of my larger-than-life boss, and the other was knowing I had reached the top of my game, earning his endorsement in front of nearly every leader in our industry.
